Wisdom teeth are the third set of molars to erupt, usually between the age of 17 and 21 although not all people have wisdom teeth.
If wisdom teeth are impacted by bone, other teeth or soft tissues they may not erupt into a functional position. They may cause jaw pain or infection so your dentist will recommend removal.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
